"We keep looking forward!" Yugi said as the students took Rourke into the tavern.
However, once he was in there, Rourke broke free and began fighting them until the students overpowered him and Mako knocked him out with an empty wine bottle.
Just then, they all heard the sounds of marching footsteps and realized the army had arrived.

"Front rank, kneel!" The army officer ordered.
"Save your gunpowder," Mako said.
"Take aim!" The soldiers aimed at the barricade.
"Get down," Mako said, as the students ducked down.
"Who's there?" The army officer called out.
There was a pause, before Mako answered, "French Revolution!"
"Fire!" The army officer ordered, and the battle began.
A group of soldiers sneaked toward the barricade.

"They're coming over the barricades!" A student shouted, as the group of soldiers began to climb the barricade.
Thinking fast, Yugi grabbed a barrel of gunpowder, as Dash cried, "Yugi! No!"
But Yugi ignored him and climbed up the barricade and Sayaka noticed, as Dash yelled, "Yugi, what are you doing?!" A soldier aimed at Yugi, as Dash cried, "YUGI, WATCH OUT! GET DOWN!"

"NO!" Sayaka cried, before she ran over, grabbed the soldier's gun, and pointed it at her stomach so she was shot instead.
Yugi grabbed a torch and yelled, "Fall back!" He hit a soldier with the torch, knocking him down, and pointed his torch at the barrel of gunpowder, as he said, "Fall back, or I blow the barricade!"
"Blow it up and take yourself with it!" The army officer retorted.
All the students looked concerned, wondering if Yugi had gone off the deep end, as Garry muttered, "Christ."
Mako climbed up, as Yugi said, "And myself with it," and began to lower the torch to the barrel.
The army officer called, "Back! Back!"
The soldiers retreated and Mako took the torch from Yugi.

As walked down the stairs, Keiichi said, "What were you thinking, Yugi!? You could have gotten us all killed!"
Yugi ignored him and walked away, until he found Sayaka pulling out the note, as it began to rain.
"Sayaka!? what are you doing?" Yugi asked her.
"I kept it from you," Sayaka said, holding the note out to Yugi. "It's from Madoka." Yugi took it from her, as she added, "I'm sorry."
"Sayaka....What have you done?" Yugi asked her, before he pulled her hand away to discover her gun wound. Sayaka gave him a sad smile as he cradled her in his arms.
Sayaka: Don't you fret, M'sieur Yugi
I don't feel any pain
A little fall of rain
Can hardly hurt me now...

And rain will make the flowers grow...
Yugi tried to make her stay awake.

At that moment, Sayaka closed her eyes and died in his arms.

Tears fell down Dash's cheeks, as Yugi kissed her on her forehead. A single tear rolled down Mako's cheek, before Mordecai took Sayaka from Yugi's arms and carried her inside to the tavern, as Yugi opened Madoka's letter and read it.

A moment later, Yugi came out with a sheet of paper and found Dash inside of a little chest at the barricade.
"Dash, will you do something for me?" Yugi asked him, as Dash looked up.
"Anything, Yug" Dash said. "Without you, I'd have bitten the dust."
