The next day, the sentry woke up the students.

"Mako," said Yugi, "the rain has damaged the gunpowder. We're low on ammunition."
"We're the only barricade left," Mako informed him.
"What!?" Yugi said incredulously, and Sulley and the students turned, wondering if they had heard right.
"We're the only ones left," Mako said.
Mako: The people have not stirred
We are abandoned by those
Who still live in fear
Let us not waste lives
Let all who wish to
Go from here
There was silence and uncertainty, until Dash began to sing.
Dash: Do you hear the people sing
Singing the song of angry men?
The students joined in.
Students: It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!
With that, the students took their place on top of the barricade with their guns.

"Mako, we need more ammunition," Garry said in concern.
"I'm going into the colonnade," Yugi said. "There are dead bodies there, dry ammunition."
Unnoticed by everyone, Dash got up and slipped out of the barricade to gather up ammunition.
"The gunpowder is wet through," Thomas said.
"Let's round it up," said Mako. "Let's get everything out here."
Dash crawled out onto the other side and began to gather ammunition.
Dash: Little people know
When little people fight
We may look easy pickings
That was when the students finally noticed Dash on the other side of the barricade.
"Dash," Mordecai whispered.
"Dash?" Joey whispered too
"Dash?" Joey whispered too
But we've got some bite!
A soldier aimed at Dash.
"Come back," Mordecai whispered.
So never kick a dog
Because he's just a pup
The soldier shot at Dash but missed, and two of the soldiers laughed. Dash turned to the students and gave them a smile as if to say, "I'm okay."
"Dash!" Mordecai whispered again.
Dash: We'll fight like 20 armies
And we won't give up
Tristan noticed and the students had to stop him from going over the barricade, as he said, "Dash! Dash, what are you doing!?" and others yelled
"Dash, get back!"
"No,no,no,no,no Dash,no,no, no, no!!"
"Dash, don't!"
"Dash, get back!"
"No,no,no,no,no Dash,no,no, no, no!!"
"Dash, don't!"
"Someone pull him back!"
"Dash!"
"Kid come back!"
"Dash!"
"Kid come back!"
The soldier shot at Dash again, but this time, he didn't miss. Dash cried out.
"You dirty bastard!" Tristan yelled, as the students put him back on the other side.
So you'd better run for cover
When the pup grows-
The soldier shot Dash again and Dash fell over dead. Tristan quickly picked Dash up and carried him back over behind the barricade and wept over him.

Army Officer: You at the barricades, listen to this!
The people of Paris sleep in their beds!
You have no chance

Why throw your lives away?
At this point, the students were beyond caring.
Mako: Let us die facing our foes
Make them bleed while we can!
Mordecai: Make them pay through the nose!
Tristan: Make them pay for every man!
Mako: Let others rise to take our place
Until the Earth is free!
Sulley carried Dash's dead body into the tavern, as the students took aim.
"CANNONS!" The army officer ordered.
As the soldiers pulled out the cannons, the students shot the soldiers manning the cannons.

Sulley handed Yugi a gun, as the soldiers brought in more cannons.

The students continued firing at the soldiers, who fired back.
"Take cover, boy!" Sulley called up to Yugi, but Yugi ignored him.
Sulley carried a wounded student into the tavern and tried to care for him as best he could, before hurrying back outside just as the soldiers fired the cannons, hitting the barricade. The soldiers began to march in and the students panicked and raced toward the houses and frantically knocked on the doors.
"Please! Open the door!" One student cried, but the person in the house just shut her window.
Realizing it was no use, the students immediately began to try to barricade the tavern. As Yugi was trying to grab a piece of furniture to barricade the door, he got shot in the leg.
"Yugi! YUGI!!" Sulley shouted, before he ran outside to Yugi, as he fell unconscious.

As the students took cover in the tavern, nobody noticed Sulley dragging Yugi out of the streets to safety. The students were getting shot inside of the tavern as Sulley hid behind the tavern, toting the unconscious Yugi.

Inside of the tavern, the soldiers shot Mordecai, Joey, Tristan, Rigby, Thomas and Garry, leaving only Mako alive for the time being.

Meanwhile, Sulley spotted a grate that led to the sewers and forced it open, before he climbed inside and grabbed Yugi's wrists.

Back in the tavern, Mako was surrounded by soldiers, about to be shot. At that moment, Bolin came in. Without a word, he stumbled to his brother's side and Mako defiantly held out the flag, just before they were both shot dead and Mako fell halfway out the window, still clutching the red flag...
